Abstract

The researcher’s academic and scientific work encompasses a broad range of research areas in medical biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, infectious diseases, wound healing, and clinical biomarkers. Major research interests include the development of novel therapeutic and vaccine strategies for HPV16 E7-associated cancers, with particular emphasis on DNA-based vaccines, non-pathogenic live-vector vaccines, glycoprotein 96 (gp96)-based fusion proteins, and heat-shock proteins as potential vehicles for cancer immunotherapy. Research has also explored anti-angiogenic molecular antibody drugs and their ability to induce apoptosis in myeloma cells.

A significant component of the research focuses on wound healing and regenerative processes, including investigations of Lawsonia inermis (Henna), Cinnamomum, and Ferula gummosa extracts for improving wound healing, reducing inflammation, enhancing glucose uptake, re-epithelialization, and keratin biosynthesis, particularly in diabetic and infected wounds. Additional studies have examined plant-derived compounds and nano-micelle curcumin for their antiviral, antioxidant, endocrine, and therapeutic properties.

The researcher has also contributed to studies on COVID-19, including circulating biomarkers, dermatological manifestations, biochemical and pathophysiological characteristics, parasitological aspects, and potential therapeutic considerations. Other research interests include reproductive biology, sperm DNA fragmentation and apoptosis, microbiota succession throughout life, diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers such as the Delta Neutrophil Index, and troponin as a cardiovascular biomarker in inflammatory bowel disease. Collectively, these studies demonstrate an interdisciplinary research profile integrating molecular mechanisms, therapeutic development, disease biomarkers, immunology, and translational biomedical research.
